First Day Of School, broadcast September 6, 1949 on NBC. This early show for children starred comedianne Fran Allison and a cast of puppets. The show was as loved by adults as it was by kids, and was completely unscripted.
First episode - Crusader Rabbit was broadcast from 1950 to 1952, divided into 10 "crusades", and then syndicated for many years. It featured Crusader Rabbit, his companion Ragland T. Tiger ("Rags"), and their occasional nemeses – Dudley Nightshade and Whetstone Whiplash with his sidekick, Bilious Green.
Mr. I. Magination starred Paul Tripp and was one of the first TV shows for children. It was broadcast live from the Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan on the CBS network.
